Once confirmed, you’ll receive a payment deposit request via our telephone booking agent or secure website. Upon arrival a full payment is required, your booking is locked in and assigned to one of our experienced local drivers.

Begin the day with a warm drink from the Tasty Traveller food van (arrive early if you want one), then head out for the short drive to Junee Caves.
9:00 AM – Junee River Walk & Cave Entrance
Follow a peaceful trail along the Junee River. The path leads to the cave’s mouth — where the underground river finally resurfaces. It’s an easy, 30-minute return walk through cool forest, rich in moss, ferns, and birdsong. The cave breathes with damp air, and the limestone tells its own quiet story.
10:00 AM – Drive to Styx Valley of the Giants
A 30-minute drive brings you into another world — the Styx Tall Trees Conservation Area. You’ll pass relics from early timber history before entering a true forest cathedral.
10:30 AM – Styx Valley Walk
Wander among towering eucalypts, some of the tallest hardwoods on Earth. The air is still here. Ferns whisper, and the canopy glows green with filtered light. It’s a place of reverence.
12:00 PM – Return to Russell Falls Cottages
Back at base, feel free to stroll the riverside property. Watch for resident eagles, echidna, paddymelons and platypus. Lunch by the water is encouraged.

9:30 AM – Pandani Grove Walk at Lake Dobson
A 1.5 km loop track winds around the lake, where subalpine gums and pandani — the world’s tallest heath — create a surreal alpine setting. In autumn, the rare deciduous fagus ignites the forest in brilliant gold and red.
10:30 AM – Return Drive with Optional Waterfall Walks
Stop at the Tall Trees carpark: you may opt for a short 15-minute walk beneath the forest giants, or take on the full Horseshoe Falls–Russell Falls loop.
11:30 AM – Explore Russell Falls (if not earlier)
Stand in the mist of the park’s crown jewel. Russell Falls flows in elegant tiers down mossy rock walls, surrounded by ancient tree ferns. Horseshoe Falls — smaller, hidden, quieter — waits just beyond.

Walk the tallest dam in Tasmania. Concrete swoops down into a gorge carved by the wild Franklin River. The wind here is raw, and the silence profound.
12:00 PM – Lunch at Twelve Trees Restaurant, Lake Pedder
